Polycystic kidney disease
is a genetic disease, there are two types.
One is called autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease, this type of patients with both parents may carry the gene for polycystic kidney disease, but parents may not develop the disease, parents carry this gene, can be passed on to the next generation of children, suffering from this disease children, usually in the fetal period or shortly after birth will lead to kidney failure and death.
Another type of polycystic kidney disease is autosomal dominant inheritance, if one parent has this disease, the probability of inheritance to children is 50%. If the child does not develop the disease, it means that the child does not carry this gene, and will not be passed on to the next generation, so there is no problem of inheritance.
