Is ureteroscopy an operation?

Ureteroscopy is a minimally invasive minor operation, which normally needs to be performed under anesthesia. Ureteroscopy is required in the following cases: 1. Hematuria of unknown cause, cystoscopy and ureteroscopy are required to clarify the bleeding site and cause;2. When suspected ureteral tumor, ureteroscopy is required to clarify the tumor site and size, and biopsy is sent to pathology to clarify the tumor nature; 3. In case of suspected ureteral stricture and ureteral obstruction, ureteroscopy is required to clarify the stricture site and severity.
