What is a vesicovaginal fistula?

Bladder vaginal fistula is an abnormal passage between the vagina and bladder.

Under normal circumstances, there is a soft tissue separation between the bladder and the vagina, which cannot be communicated. If the patient has surgical injury or gynecological disease injury, the soft tissue between the two is perforated, forming an abnormal passage. After the bladder and vagina are connected, urine in the bladder may flow out through the vagina.

The main treatment for this disease is surgery. Patients can choose to repair the fistula through abdominal approach or vaginal approach according to their own conditions.
