Prostate MRI is done to rule out prostate cancer.
MRI examination has relatively high spatial resolution and soft tissue resolution. Examination of prostate can clarify the size, density, structural changes and the presence or absence of nodules. If prostate cancer is suspected, patients can undergo MRI examination. If there is low signal intensity in T2 area or high signal intensity in T1WI, it is highly suspected that malignant lesions need further pathological examination. If there is no abnormality above, prostate cancer can be ruled out.
