is a gonadal organ in the male reproductive system. It has the functions of secreting prostatic fluid, participating in urination and urine control, and participating in ejaculation. If there is no obvious lesion, or only mild benign lesions such as prostatitis and prostatic hyperplasia, surgical resection is generally not recommended. Prostatectomy has certain indications. When prostatic hyperplasia causes difficulty urinating, repeated urinary tract infections, severe hematuria, and ineffective medical treatment, it can usually be removed surgically. There are many methods for prostatectomy, including open surgery, transurethral resection of the prostate, and laser surgery.
