Prostatitis is an inflammation of prostate tissue. Common clinical symptoms include frequent urination, urgency, urinary pain, perineum or sacral discomfort. B-mode ultrasound examination is helpful for the diagnosis and evaluation of prostatitis. It can measure whether there are abnormal changes in the size and shape of the prostate, but it cannot be directly used as the basis for the diagnosis of prostatitis disease.
