Monteggia fracture can be classified into extension type, flexion type and adduction type. The clinical manifestation of extension type is that the fracture end is angled to the palm and radial side, and the fracture is usually transverse or comminuted type. The clinical manifestation of flexion type is that the fracture end is angled to the dorsal radial side. The clinical manifestation of adduction type is transverse or longitudinal split fracture of coracoid process and lateral dislocation of radial head.
