Prostate disease affects fertility on a case-by-case basis.

The prostate plays a role in fertility, for example, some fluid from the prostate collects in semen and ejaculatory ducts pass through the prostate. Mild prostate disease usually does not damage these structures to the extent that semen is blocked and cannot be excreted, so fertility is not affected. However, severe prostate disease may affect fertility. In this case, there may be problems such as reduced sperm count, reduced mobility, and morphological abnormalities, resulting in prolonged conception time and reduced chances of successful pregnancy.
