Prostate-specific antigen testing usually does not require fasting.

Blood sampling is the primary method for testing prostate specific antigen, and cystoscopic catheterization is not required. Prostate-specific antigen does not change due to dietary factors, so fasting is not required for prostate specific antigen testing. However, prostate-specific antigen is only an auxiliary test and cannot be used alone to diagnose prostate cancer or prostatic hypertrophy. If prostate cancer is suspected, it needs to be diagnosed by urethral cystoscopy, urodynamic examination, prostate anal digital examination and other methods.
