Where is the location of Tanzhong acupoint

Tanzhong is located on the median line of the chest, level with the fourth intercostal space, i.e. the midpoint of the line connecting the two nipples.

The accurate location of Tanzhong has certain significance for treatment and health care. Tanzhong is located on the sternum, with the anterior perforating branch of the internal thoracic artery and vein, and the medial branch of the anterior cutaneous branch of the fourth intercostal nerve. This point is not only the opening point of the pericardium meridian, but also the gathering point of qi of the zang-fu organs. It has many effects such as regulating qi and broadening the chest, dispersing lung and relieving cough, lowering adverse flow and stopping vomiting.

In traditional Chinese medicine theory, Tanzhong is regarded as qi meeting, which can regulate the whole body qi and promote the circulation of qi and blood, and has certain curative effect on diseases caused by poor qi.
