How to check progesterone value

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
Progestin in women is produced by ovary, placenta and adrenal cortex. Progestin content fluctuates with menstrual cycle. Progestin level is extremely low in follicular period. After ovulation, ovarian corpus luteum produces a large amount of progesterone, and the level rises rapidly. Blood concentration reaches peak on the 6th to 8th day after LH peak in middle period, and gradually decreases to follicular level four days before menstruation. During pregnancy, serum progesterone levels rise steadily with pregnancy, mainly from the corpus luteum in the sixth week of pregnancy and mainly from the placenta in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. Therefore, progesterone can be monitored for ovulation, evaluation of corpus luteum function, auxiliary diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, auxiliary diagnosis of threatened abortion, observation of placental function, and examination of progesterone values.
