Cervical spondylosis mortality is not high

Restoring balance, one patient at a time.
Cervical spondylosis is a term agreed upon in China. It is defined as various symptoms caused by cervical disc degeneration itself and its secondary changes, stimulation or compression of adjacent tissues. It is called cervical disc disease abroad. Cervical spondylosis is mainly caused by compression of vertebral arteries, nerves and spinal cord of cervical spine. Nerve root compression is accompanied by radiating pain in arms and chest, numbness of fingers and muscle weakness. Compression of the cervical vertebral artery can cause head symptoms such as headache, dizziness, tinnitus and visual problems. Compression of the spinal cord often causes symptoms to occur bilaterally or unilaterally from the lower limbs. Patients show bilateral or unilateral numbness, sinking, walking weakness, cotton-like feeling in both feet, and even some patients show sphincter dysfunction, resulting in incontinence and severe paralysis. Cervical spondylosis itself does not cause death, so death after cervical spondylosis is mainly caused by complications caused by paralysis caused by cervical compression of the spinal cord. Therefore, the mortality rate of cervical spondylosis itself is relatively low.
