Alpha-fetoprotein is what cancer to look for

Guiding you to a healthier path.
Alpha-fetoprotein can be used to screen for hepatocellular carcinoma and germ cell tumors.
1. Hepatocellular carcinoma
alpha-fetoprotein plays an important role in the diagnosis and monitoring of hepatocellular carcinoma. In some patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, alpha-fetoprotein levels are significantly elevated. Therefore, high levels of alpha-fetoprotein in the blood may indicate the presence of hepatocellular carcinoma.
2. Germ cell tumors
carcinoembryonic antigen and alpha-fetoprotein are usually used to detect germ cell tumors such as testis and ovary. In some cases, these tumors can lead to elevated alpha-fetoprotein levels in the blood.
It should be noted that alpha-fetoprotein is only used for the auxiliary diagnosis of cancer, and cannot be confirmed by imaging and pathological examination.
