How many days does chickenpox need to be isolated?

Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by infection with varicella zoster virus. The infection usually lasts about ten days, during which time the patient needs to be isolated from the population. Chickenpox is self-limiting and therefore does not require treatment. However, if the disease is severe, antiviral drugs should be used.
