Side effects of radiotherapy for breast cancer

While radiation therapy kills cancer cells, it also causes certain damage to normal cells. After radiation therapy, mild cases may cause skin ulceration, peeling, pigmentation and other symptoms around the breast. Severe cases may cause skin ulcers, radiation pneumonia, and radiation lung fibrosis.
