How long is the survival time after ureteral cancer surgery

Healing hearts, healing lives.
Ureteral
cancer is a malignant tumor originating from ureteral mucosa epithelium. If the disease is diagnosed in the early stage, and radical nephroureterectomy is adopted, the affected kidney, the whole ureter and the bladder wall at the ureter opening are all removed. Clinical cure can usually be achieved. The postoperative recurrence rate is low, and the survival time may reach 10-30 years. However, if the disease is discovered late, it is already in the middle and late stage when diagnosed, so it is impossible to take total resection surgery, only palliative surgery can be performed, which cannot completely remove the tumor, so it is easy to relapse and metastasize after operation, so the survival time may be shortened, which may be only about 10 years or even shorter.
