Annexitis usually affects conception.
The fallopian tube is an important passage for eggs and sperm to meet and combine. When annexitis occurs, inflammatory stimulation may cause adhesion, narrowing or even blockage of the fallopian tube, thus preventing sperm from combining with eggs, making conception difficult or impossible. Normal fallopian tube motility plays a key role in transporting fertilized eggs to the uterus. The presence of inflammation may interfere with the peristaltic function of the fallopian tube. Even if sperm and eggs can combine to form fertilized eggs, they may not reach the uterus smoothly, increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy, which poses a great threat to women's health
