Penicillin's role and indications

Penicillin is an antibiotic that can destroy bacterial cell walls and kill bacteria during reproduction. It is an important antibiotic with high efficiency, low toxicity and wide clinical application. Penicillin is mainly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and treats pneumonia, tuberculosis, meningitis, endocarditis, diphtheria, etc. Intradermal allergy testing must be done before use. Penicillin should not be combined with similar antibiotics, sulfonamides or tetracyclines, or mixed with aminoglycosides.
