What are the five liver function tests?

The five liver function tests mainly detect alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin, total bilirubin.

1. alanine aminotransferase and

aspartate aminotransferase are common enzymes in liver cells. After liver cells are damaged, the two enzymes will be released into the blood, resulting in increased values.

2. direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin

are indicators reflecting liver excretion function. When liver excretion function is impaired, two indicators will increase.

3. total bilirubin

is the sum of direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin, which can reflect liver excretion function through total bilirubin values.
