Causes of low total protein albumin

Total protein and albumin are low, indicating that the synthetic function of the liver has problems or protein loss in urine. This situation is mainly seen in two aspects, as follows: one, acute decrease, mostly seen in acute massive bleeding or severe burns, when plasma albumin and total protein will be quickly lost. Two, chronic total protein and albumin decrease, mainly seen in liver diseases, such as chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. Third, kidney disease, kidney disease caused by urinary protein loss, common diseases are chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, chronic renal failure and so on.
