What are the symptoms of esophageal stricture?

Healing with hope, guiding with care.
Patients with esophageal stricture may experience symptoms of slow eating, difficulty swallowing, and physical weakness, as follows:
1. Slow eating
Due to esophageal stricture, food passes slowly through the esophagus, and the eating process is prolonged. Patients often need water or liquid to assist in swallowing food in order to complete eating.
2. Dysphagia
Due to esophageal stricture, food, liquid, or saliva may feel blocked or stuck when passing through the esophagus, resulting in dysphagia and discomfort. Sometimes dysphagia may be accompanied by symptoms such as cough and sore throat.
3. Physical weakness
Due to limited eating, swallowing difficulties, insufficient intake of food and nutrients, may lead to weight loss and physical weakness.
