What causes gallbladder tenderness?

Guiding you towards wellness.
Gallbladder tenderness is generally referred to Murphy's sign, Murphy's sign may be caused by cholecystitis, gallstones, gallbladder cancer and other reasons.
1. Cholecystitis
cholecystitis will lead to congestion, edema and spasm of the gallbladder wall, making the gallbladder more sensitive to touch, and then causing Murphy's sign.
2. Gallbladder stones
are located at the bottom of the gallbladder. When the patient inhales, the diaphragm moves down, resulting in increased contact between the gallbladder and the liver. Stimulation of the gallbladder wall will cause Murphy's sign.
3. Gallbladder cancer
When gallbladder cancer invades the serosa layer of the gallbladder, causing the gallbladder to increase in volume, causing traction on the liver capsule, stimulating the peritoneal nerve, causing Murphy's sign.
