Pancreatic IPMN is a papillary mucinous tumor of the pancreatic duct, which is a benign tumor of the pancreas. Pancreatic IPMN
is a benign tumor that occurs in the pancreatic duct system. It forms in the internal ducts of the pancreas and is characterized by the production of mucinous secretions. Clinically, it can be divided into three types: main duct type IPMN involves the main pancreatic duct, while collateral duct type IPMN involves only small collateral ducts. Pancreatic IPMN is mostly asymptomatic and is usually detected during imaging for other pancreatic disease or suspected pancreatic tumor. Patients may experience symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, dyspepsia, weight loss, and jaundice.
