What is the difference between cold and viral influenza?

The difference between wind-cold cold and viral cold lies in different medical concepts, different causes and different treatment methods. The
medical concepts are different: wind-cold cold is the concept of traditional Chinese medicine, while viral cold is the concept of western medicine. The
causes are different: wind-cold is generally caused by wind-cold evil attack and lung qi failure. Viral cold is usually caused by upper respiratory tract infection by rhinovirus, influenza virus, parainfluenza virus or respiratory syncytial virus.
The treatment methods are different: wind-cold cold can be treated with drugs such as cassia twig soup or ephedra soup. However, if it is only a simple viral cold, it generally does not need treatment.
