Committed to your recovery.
Scoliosis can be caused by a variety of factors, including idiopathic scoliosis, congenital scoliosis, neuromuscular scoliosis, traumatic scoliosis, degenerative scoliosis, etc.
1. Idiopathic scoliosis There is
no clear cause for this type of scoliosis, and it may be related to genetic factors. It usually develops at a young age and may be more severe.
2. Congenital scoliosis
This is caused by fetal skeletal dysplasia, such as vertebral body formation disorders, segmentation disorders, etc., common hemivertebral deformity, butterfly vertebrae, etc.
3. Neuromuscular scoliosis This
type of scoliosis is mainly caused by muscle and nerve diseases, such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, polio sequelae, neurofibromatosis, etc.
4. Traumatic scoliosis
This is caused by an asymmetric fracture of the vertebral body due to severe trauma.
5. Degenerative scoliosis This
type of scoliosis is more common in the elderly and is mainly caused by severe degeneration of the intervertebral discs, facet joints, muscles, and reduced spinal stability.
