What is the difference between amblyopia and myopia?

Restoring hope, restoring health.
Amblyopia and myopia are two different types of visual disorders. The main differences lie in their causes, symptoms, and treatments.
First, amblyopia is usually caused by abnormalities in the visual cortex during visual development. This abnormality may be related to factors such as premature birth and developmental delay. In contrast, myopia is caused by abnormalities in the refractive system of the eye, which causes parallel light rays to focus before the retina, resulting in blurred vision. Myopia is usually related to poor eye habits, genetic factors, etc.
Second, in terms of symptoms, amblyopia patients may tilt their heads, squint, etc. when looking at things, and their hand-eye coordination may be poor. Myopia patients usually see near objects normally, but feel blurred when looking at distant objects.
Finally, in terms of treatment methods, amblyopia treatment usually includes optical correction, after-image therapy, red filters, etc., while myopia can be treated by wearing glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.
