What does cervical virus infection mean?

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
HPV infection is
a common virus, there are many subtypes, HPV infection is more common, most people may be infected in life, but in most cases, the body's own immune system can clear the virus. However, some high-risk HPV infection may increase the risk of cervical cancer. At the
same time, high-risk HPV types such as 16, 18 are closely related to cervical cancer. Long-term persistent infection of these high-risk HPV types is an important risk factor for cervical cancer. For patients found to be positive for cervical virus infection, further evaluation is needed. This includes combining cervical cytology to determine whether there are cervical lesions. If cytology is abnormal, colposcopy and biopsy may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.
