When does the fracture begin to heal?

Your well-being is my goal.
Fracture healing usually begins 2 to 3 weeks after fracture.
After fracture, hematoma will form rapidly at and around the fracture site. This is due to blood vessel rupture leading to blood accumulation at the fracture site. The formation of hematoma not only provides a material basis for subsequent repair, but also initiates a series of repair mechanisms. In the process of hematoma organization, fibroblasts gradually proliferate and form fibrous callus. The callus at this stage is softer in texture, but it begins to connect the fracture ends, laying the foundation for further stability and healing. Over time, fibrous callus is gradually replaced by bony tissue to form bony callus. This process involves osteoblasts, which calcify and strengthen callus, thus improving the strength and stability of fracture site.
