What to do with a sprained foot

Sprain foot can be treated by cold compress, pressure bandage, drug therapy and other methods.
1. Cold compress
within 24-48 hours after sprain, use ice pack or cold towel on sprain area. Cold compress can constrict blood vessels, reduce bleeding and swelling, and relieve pain. Each cold compress time should not be too long, generally 15-20 minutes each time, every 2-3 hours.
2. Pressure bandage
on sprain area with elastic bandage to reduce bleeding and swelling. Note that the bandage should not be too tight, so as not to affect blood circulation.
3. Drug treatment
If the pain is obvious, you can follow the doctor's advice oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, indomethacin, etc.
