According to the different types of diseases, the causes of gastritis are different, including acute gastritis, chronic gastritis and special types of gastritis.

How is gastritis caused?

1. Acute gastritis: acute gastritis is usually caused by severe trauma, sepsis, multiple organ failure and other factors, which can lead to gastric mucosa ischemia, hypoxia, mucosal barrier destruction, and then cause inflammation; it is also related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-tumor chemotherapy drugs, iron or alcohol abuse.

2. Chronic gastritis: Chronic gastritis is generally related to Helicobacter pylori infection, duodeno-gastric reflux, autoimmune abnormalities or gastric mucosa degeneration.

3. Special types of gastritis: swallowing strong alkali, strong acid, mercury chloride and other substances can cause corrosive gastritis; when the autoimmune decline, infection bacteria and viruses can cause infectious gastritis.
