Hyphema may be related to local trauma, surgical operation, iris neovascularization and other reasons.
1. Local trauma
If the eye is subjected to direct or indirect violence, it may lead to rupture of the iris and ciliary body vessels, causing blood to flow into the front, resulting in hyphema.
2. Surgical operation
If the eye has undergone surgical operation, part of the blood remains in the anterior chamber or surgery causes damage to local blood vessels, and hyphema may also occur.
3. Iris neovascularization When
new blood vessels appear on the iris surface, spontaneous bleeding may also occur, resulting in hyphema.
