Some amblyopia can be treated by surgery.

Amblyopia refers to the functional decline of vision due to central nervous system dysfunction caused by dysplasia in the critical period of visual development, mainly including monocular strabismus, high ametropia, form deprivation, anisometropia, etc. For example, some patients with form deprivation amblyopia caused by congenital cataract or congenital ptosis can be treated by surgery for the primary disease, and then recovered by physical therapy. Strabismus amblyopia patients can be corrected by surgery to promote vision recovery.

Amblyopia is generally treated well in infants and young children. If it is not treated for a long time, it may lead to irreversible disease.
