Effect of pilocarpine on vision

Pilocarpine

is a cholinergic receptor agonist that activates the M choline receptor of the pupillary sphincter, causing the pupillary sphincter to contract. As the pupil shrinks, the anterior chamber angle gap expands, and aqueous humor returns smoothly, intraocular pressure will decrease. Because of these effects of pilocarpine, it is often used in the treatment of various types of glaucoma clinically, which can alleviate blurred vision and decreased vision caused by increased intraocular pressure due to glaucoma, and has certain help to improve the patient's vision.
