What causes night blindness?

Empathy in care, excellence in medicine.
Night blindness may be caused by congenital factors, acquired eye diseases, systemic diseases and other reasons.
1. Congenital factors
Congenital static night blindness is a genetic disease, its genetic mode is autosomal dominant or recessive inheritance. Because the patient is born with rhodopsin synthesis disorders in rod cells, the symptoms of night blindness can last for life.
2. Acquired eye diseases such
as retinochoritis, hemorrhagic retinitis, glaucoma, high myopia and other eye diseases can affect rhodopsin synthesis, but also cause night blindness.
3. Systemic diseases
Night blindness may also be related to systemic diseases, such as liver disease, malnutrition, vitamin A deficiency, etc., which can lead to damage to rod cell function, rhodopsin synthesis disorders, and induce this disease.
