How much is high astigmatism?

Dedicated to your well-being.
Astigmatism is considered high if it exceeds 200 degrees.
Astigmatism refers to the difference in refractive power between the different meridians of the eye. Generally speaking, astigmatism below 100 degrees is considered mild, between 100 and 200 degrees is moderate, and above 200 degrees is considered high astigmatism.
Astigmatism is caused by inconsistent curvature of the cornea or lens surface. It may be congenital or acquired, such as eye trauma, eye surgery, corneal disease, etc. The treatment of astigmatism depends on the degree and type of astigmatism. For mild astigmatism, glasses or contact lenses may be appropriate. Moderate and high astigmatism may require contact lenses or surgery, such as refractive surgery (LASIK or PRK) or lens surgery.
In terms of medication, astigmatism itself does not require medication, but if astigmatism is accompanied by other eye conditions, such as dry eye or glaucoma, the doctor may recommend medication to treat these conditions.
