What is the color of bleeding stool?

Intestinal bleeding stool color may be red, dark red, black, etc.

1. Red

When intestinal bleeding is located in the rectum, close to the anus, mixed with stool will be excreted, there will be no oxidation, so stool usually appears bright red.

2. Dark red

When intestinal bleeding is located in the upper part of the intestine, the blood may not be immediately discharged after bleeding, which will lead to oxidation of the blood and become dark red.

3. Black

When intestinal bleeding is large, the paste in the blood will turn black after oxidation. When it is discharged together with stool, it will cause the color of stool to turn black.
