What is food reflux?

Guiding you towards wellness.
Food reflux generally refers to gastroesophageal reflux disease. The causes of gastroesophageal reflux disease include weakened anti-reflux barrier function, decreased esophageal clearance, decreased esophageal mucosal barrier function, etc.
1. Weakened anti-reflux barrier function, such
as weight-bearing labor, gastric dilation, delayed gastric emptying, etc., can increase intra-abdominal pressure, leading to decreased esophageal sphincter tension, resulting in gastroesophageal reflux disease.
2. Reduced esophageal clearance, such
as Sjogren's syndrome, weakened swallowing function, etc., can lead to slow esophageal motility, abnormal saliva secretion, difficult to clear esophageal contents, resulting in gastroesophageal reflux disease.
3. Reduced esophageal mucosal barrier function,
such as long-term smoking, alcoholism, depression, etc., can lead to decreased esophageal mucosal resistance, resulting in esophageal reflux disease.
