Characteristics of hemolytic jaundice

Restoring health, one step at a time.
Hemolytic jaundice is characterized by anemia, yellow staining of skin and mucosa, splenomegaly, etc.
1. anemia
Hemolytic jaundice, red blood cells are destroyed too much, resulting in the release of hemoglobin into the blood, and then cause anemia. Anemia can lead to fatigue, palpitations and other symptoms.
2. Yellow staining of skin and mucosa
In the process of hemolysis, hemoglobin released from red blood cells will be decomposed into bilirubin. Bilirubin cannot be transported and metabolized normally, resulting in its deposition in skin and mucous membranes, making the skin and mucous membranes yellow.
3. Splenomegaly
Spleen is an important organ for processing old red blood cells and maintaining blood clearance. In the process of hemolysis, spleen needs to remove a large number of ruptured red blood cells, so it is prone to splenomegaly. Splenomegaly may cause pain, compression or discomfort in the left upper abdomen.
