Rheumatology and Rheumatoid Diseases: Rheumatic disease is a group of chronic diseases that accumulate bones and joints and their surrounding soft tissues, as well as related tissues and organs. Rheumatic diseases include more than 100 diseases in 10 categories. The etiology is diverse, and the pathogenesis is not well understood, but most of them are closely related to autoimmune reactions. Rheumatic diseases include rheumatoid diseases. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease with aggressive and symmetrical polyarthritis as its main clinical manifestations. The exact pathogenesis is unknown, but the basic pathological changes are chronic inflammation of the synovial membrane, pannus formation, and gradual destruction of articular cartilage and bone, resulting in joint deformity and loss of function.
