Is subacute lupus serious?

Guiding you towards a healthier tomorrow.
Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus is not as severe as systemic lupus erythematosus, but can progress to systemic lupus erythematosus. Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus refers to subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE). This subtype affects more exposed parts of the upper trunk, such as the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back and upper limbs. The lesions mainly present as papular scale type and annular erythema type. In addition to skin lesions, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus is often accompanied by fever, arthralgia, mouth ulcers, serositis and other systemic lupus lesions, but severe kidney and central nervous system involvement and severe infection are relatively rare in subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, so this is also less serious than systemic lupus erythematosus. But subacute cutaneous lupus can progress to systemic lupus if it is not controlled in time, because lupus is a spectrum disease.
