Acute fatty liver of pregnancy is not necessarily severe preeclampsia.

Severe preeclampsia is usually caused by abnormal vascular structure, excessive activation of inflammation and immunity, vascular endothelial cell damage and genetic reasons, although acute fatty liver of pregnancy due to coagulation dysfunction may lead to vascular rupture, bleeding, and further vascular endothelial cell damage, resulting in severe eclampsia. However, it is only one of the causes of severe eclampsia, the two do not belong to the same disease, the pathogenesis is also different, so acute fatty liver of pregnancy is not necessarily severe preeclampsia.
