What is an anal examination?

Anoscopy is a method used to diagnose anal and rectal diseases. It can also take pathological tissues under the anoscope.

Anoscopy generally selects lateral position or chest knee position, smears appropriate amount of lubricating oil on the anoscope, dilates the anus, and slowly inserts the anoscope into the anus after the anus is relaxed. When inserting the anoscope, first insert it into the abdominal direction of the patient, wait until it passes through the anal canal, and then push it along the coccyx direction.

It is recommended that the patient cooperate with the doctor to carry out appropriate breathing and anal contraction exercises, relax, and not be nervous to reduce the discomfort of anoscopy.
