HPV is classified into high-risk HPV and low-risk HPV according to its correlation with cervical cancer. Among the high-risk HPV types, 16 and 18 are associated with about 75% of cervical cancer. Other HPV viruses with a low proportion of correlation with cervical cancer are collectively referred to as other high-risk HPV viruses. More than 80% of HPV infections are transient infections in women under 30 years of age. This infection can generally be eliminated by their own resistance within one year. Therefore, if other high-risk types are found positive, cervical cytology should be combined with cervical cytology. If there is no cervical cytological lesion, it can be reexamined one year later, and there is the possibility of automatic negative conversion. However, if cytological changes are present, further colposcopy should be performed.
