How lung fibrosis affects respiratory function

Normal lungs exchange lung gas through alveoli and lung interstitium. If pulmonary fibrosis occurs in patients, they will show symptoms of hypoxia and dyspnea. The area of pulmonary fibrosis in two lungs is relatively large, which may thicken the pulmonary interstitium of patients, affect the ventilation function of lungs, thus affecting the discrete dysfunction of lungs, making oxygen difficult to absorb into lungs. Therefore, the severity of pulmonary fibrosis determines the diffusion disorder of oxygen in patients.
