What tests do suspected TB patients need to do

TB is a disease of the lungs caused by TB infection. Typical symptoms are weight loss, low afternoon fever, night sweats, fatigue, poor appetite and cough, expectoration, etc. For suspected TB patients, chest imaging or PPD test can assist in diagnosis. However, the gold standard for diagnosis of TB is sputum culture. If TB bacteria are found in the patient's sputum, or if TB bacteria are found in bronchoscopic biopsy, the diagnosis is correct.
