Does the cuff tightness affect blood pressure

Empowering you to live your best life.
The cuff tightness has an impact on the blood pressure measurement results.
The main function of the cuff is to limit arterial blood flow, so that arterial blood pressure vibration occurs when the cuff is inflated, thereby measuring blood pressure. If the cuff is too loose, the cuff needs a relatively high pressure during inflation, which reduces the contact area between the cuff and the upper surface, making the blood pressure value high and unable to accurately reflect the actual blood pressure level of the patient. If the cuff is too tight, the arterial blood flow will be blocked, and the arterial blood vessel will be gradually pressurized during cuff inflation, causing the blood pressure value to be displayed low.
