Ventricular septal defect. Can it heal itself?

Ventricular septal defects (VSD) are common congenital heart disease. Small defects may be left untreated and may resolve spontaneously before the age of ten. Large defects may be considered for repair under endoscopy. The optimal age for surgery is between four and ten years.
