Normal range of homocysteine

The normal range of homocysteine is 5-15μmol/L.

Homocysteine can be used for screening of cerebral infarction, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, myocardial infarction and other diseases, and its normal range is 5-15μmol/L. If the test results do not exceed this range, it indicates that the index is normal, suggesting that the risk of suffering from the above cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is low, and it is generally not accompanied by other abnormal lesions. If the test result is>15μmol/L, it indicates that the index is high, which may be related to factors such as high cholesterol diet, mental stress, nephropathy, psoriasis, etc., and also means that the risk of suffering from the above cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is increased. However, the index is low and has no clinical significance. Theoretically, the lower the better.
