Hypertension can be judged by clinical symptoms and blood pressure measurement.
1. Clinical symptoms
Typical symptoms of hypertension include headache, tiredness, restlessness, soreness of the waist and knees, edema of the limbs, dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision, chest tightness, palpitations and shortness of breath. If the hypertension is severe, angina pectoris, stroke and kidney injury may also occur.
2. Blood pressure measurement
Regularly measure blood pressure and record blood pressure readings. If the blood pressure value measured several times for many days is always systolic blood pressure ≥140mmHg or diastolic blood pressure ≥90mmHg, and combined with the above clinical symptoms, hypertension can be diagnosed.
