Beriberi, also known as tinea pedis, is a skin disease caused by some pathogenic fungi infecting the skin of the feet. It is manifested as erythema, blisters, scaling, keratosis thickening of the feet, often accompanied by obvious itching. Beriberi, strictly speaking, refers to vitamin B1 deficiency, a series of symptoms caused by vitamin B1 deficiency in the body. The main clinical manifestations can be symmetrical peripheral neuritis, muscle soreness and weakness, but also can be systemic edema, including pericardial, pleural, peritoneal effusion, etc. After vitamin B1 supplementation, symptoms can be relieved.
